£1 Petrol For Christmas!

It has been predicted that petrol prices will drop to £1 this Christmas as supermarkets battle to provide the lowest possible prices for both petrol and diesel.

The revelation comes as Tesco slashed its prices on Tuesday by 2p a litre. 

This forced Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Asda to do the same, meaning the price of unleaded fell to just 101.7p a litre at Asda. Just above the £1 mark.

RAC spokesman Simon Williams told The Mirror: ‘With the price of wholesale unleaded dropping due to oil falling below $40 the climate is right for £1 a litre petrol.

“All we need is for the supermarkets to do the right thing and embrace the season of goodwill by passing on those savings at the pump to make Christmas that bit cheaper for everyone.”
