5 Low Budget Festivals You Can Attend This Summer!

If you want to make the most of Festival season this year but can’t afford to spend a small fortune splashing out on the likes of Glastonbury and T In The Park, then you should seriously consider going along to one of the more underrated weekends! Just because the cheaper festivals aren’t as mainstream yet, doesn’t mean that they aren’t equally as fun and the music can be just as good. The UK is home some of the best festivals and there are so many to choose from whatever your scene may be. Here I have picked out a few of the best ones for you all to consider.

Tramlines Festival, 24th – 26th July 2015

This two day festival will take place in Sheffield and there will be lots of big names playing there! The line up includes hip hop legends Wu Tang Clan, Basement Jaxx, The Charlatans and We Are Ocean. This is ideal for those of you who hate the thought of camping in the Great British Weather as it’s not included, however the festival is situated in the heart of Sheffield surrounding the best attractions and sights the city has to offer including the amazing cathedral. You can get weekend tickets for this event from just £30 + booking fee so great value for money.

Farmfest, 31st July – 1st August 2015

This weekend festival will be taking place in the village of Bruton in Somerset. This is a small family friendly festival which is independently run but becoming  more and more popular by the year. Weekend adult tickets are £59 or you can buy a full family ticket for £195. If you want the full festival experience then these tickets also include access to the festivals camping ground. This is perfect for festival goers on a budget, there’s plenty of day time activities to keep the little ones entertained as well as some amazing up and coming acts.

Somersault Festival, 23rd – 27th July 2015

Head over to Somersault festival in Devon to see some big names such as Bombay Bicycle Club, Jimmy Cliff and Crystal Fighters. The festival will be hosting lots of other unique outdoor activities such as yoga and trekking. If theatre performances and street circus’s are your cup of tea then this is definitely a festival for you. A one day adult ticket is £82.50 or you can get a long weekend ticket for £145.

Symmetry Festival 12th – 14th June 2015

This festival is set in the Norfolk countryside surrounded by lakes and woodland. There are 6 stages of acts ranging from well known artists to homegrown hidden gems. There is also plenty of enticing entertainment for all ages including walkabout acts, live arts displays and a creative kids area! Tickets start from £70. Line up is yet to be announced.

Grillstock Bristol – 11th – 12th July 2015

If food and drink is more your thing then Grill Stock is definitely the festival for you! The US themed BBQ festival will host eating competitions, there will be 24 companies battling for your custom over their BBQ’s alongside the musical entertainment. Your ticket will include entrance into the festival for a day or the whole weekend. It also gives you access to sample the competition food from some of the competition from some of the rounds and the BBQ Academy masterclass.
