Should ear piercing be banned on children?

I would love to know what you think… Should ear piercing be banned on children?

A campaign has been started to ban ear piercing on babies and toddlers.

The campaign, started by a woman called Susan, has called for a minimum legal age for ear piercing on children.

The campaign states ”Why is this important? It is a form of child cruelty. Severe pain and fear is inflicted upon infants unnecessarily. It serves no purpose other than to satisfy the parent’s vanity. Other forms of physically harming children are illegal- this should be no different.”

Katie Price has now come under fire as a picture emerges of her 18 month old daughter with her ears pierced.

The mum-of-five, 37, came under fire for taking Bunny, 18-months, to get tiny stud earrings – with some fans calling Katie out for making a ‘selfish’ decision .

Now this post is not here to judge people but I would love to know what you think. I did want to get my daughters ears pierced a few year ago but I was worried if it would hurt too much so I didn’t bother in the end. She has recently said she never wants her ears pierced so I’m glad I didn’t in the end. Should we let children decide themselves if they want them done or not?
