Important cabin baggage announcement from airlines!

New guidelines have been put in place by aviation bosses meaning that the size of cabin luggage allowed on planes will be changing in the coming months.

Major carriers have already signed up and more are set to follow suit!

The new carry on bag size will be:

The new carry on bag size will be:

  • 55cm (21.5 inches) tall
  • 35cm (13.5 inches) wide
  • 20cm (7.5 inches) deep

The new rules are apparently meant to clear up any confusion about carry-on bag allowance and also speed up the check in process!

So if you are going away in the near future, the bad news is that you may need to buy new cases! However, make sure you double check with your airline plenty of time before you actually fly just so you can be certain about specific rules before you go. There would be nothing worse than having your carry-on luggage turned away at the gate!

The current allowance for British Airways and easyJet is 56cm x 45cm x 25cm, which is bigger than baggage allowance issued in the new guidelines.
