Big Lottery Changes … THE FACTS!

Many of you may have heard that there are going to be some big changes made to the national lottery, which seems to of caused a bit of controversy amongst the general public. So I thought I’d help clear up any confusion by outlining some of the facts.

From October, the National Lottery will be adding ten balls to the main jackpot draw, meaning players will be able to pick any six numbers between one and 59.

Ultimately, the changes will raise the odds of winning the jackpot to a one in 45 million chance. The odds of winning are currently one in 14 million which does make the new draw much more improbable.

However, many people aren’t understanding that the new draw will in fact make MORE millionaires thanks to the introduction of the new ‘Lotto Millionaires Raffle’ which is said to guarantee at least two millionaires each week in addition to 20 winners of £20,000 in every draw!

Also, under the changes to the rules, players who match two numbers will win a Lucky Dip ticket for a future draw which Camelot have said this will create an “extra 1.8 million winners each week!”

What the changes will mean in a nutshell:

  • Average winning jackpot expected to be tripled
  • Two matching numbers will win a Lucky Dip ticket
  • The cost of playing will remain at £2 a line
  • Other prizes, such as £25 for matching three numbers, will remain
  • A ‘Millionaire Raffle’ will guarantee at least one millionaire per draw
  • Odds of winning at least £1 million drop to one in 10 million

So as you can see, all in all, the Lotto is actually offering players more chances than ever to become a millionaire on Lotto and bigger rolling jackpots!
