August Bank Holiday Train Strikes.

If you are planning on going away over the bank holiday weekend then you may want to take note of the rail strikes that are going to be taking place.

First Great Western rail workers are to stage strikes, including one over the bank holiday.

The strike is being held over threats to jobs, services and safety from the introduction of the new Hitachi intercity trains the BBC has reported.

First Great Western rail also held a 48-hour strike earlier this month which caused disruption to tens of thousands of commuters and it looks like the same could be happening again over the bank holiday.

If you already have train tickets for that weekend then keep checking for railway updates near the time to make sure your train isn’t cancelled. If it isn’t cancelled then you should prepare yourself for delays.
