Beware of the Rugby World Cup ticket scam!

Rugby fans who are hoping to snap up tickets for the rugby World Cup are being warned to watch out for scam sites.

Which? the consumer watchdog has uncovered rip-off deals wich are scamming unknowing customers out of thousands of pounds.

Which? is urging fans to steer clear of website GetSporting.com which is offering up to ten tickets at a time for games that are already sold out.

The Mirror has reported: ‘The unofficial site which appears to have hundreds of tickets for matches including every England game as well as the semi-finals and rugby’s crowning glory – the final – only offers punters the chance to pay using wire transfer or online banking, even though a credit card is initially given as an option.’

Which? has warned: ‘We’ve found one website, GetSporting.com, offering deals that may be too good to be true, selling tickets for sold out matches like England v Australia and England v Wales. It appears that consumers are unlikely to receive tickets or could even receive fake ones.’

Rugby World Cup 2015 has urged fans to only use accredited ticket sites to buy or resell at tickets.rugbyworldcup.com. It added that supporters can check official sites at rugbyworldcup.com/buyofficial.
