Renault recalling 15,000 cars.

The news has just broke that Renault are being forced to recall more than 15,000 vehicles to make changes to their engines.

Renault’s head office in France and two other sites were raided last week by anti-fraud investigators who were looking into its vehicle emissions technology.

Last week a government backed commission said Renault’s diesel cars failed pollution tests and investigators raided its sites.

Segolene Royal the French energy Minister has said: ‘Renault has committed to recalling a certain number of vehicles, more than 15,000 vehicles, to check them and adjust them correctly so the filtration system works even when it is very hot or when it is below 17 degrees, because that’s when the filtration system no longer worked.’

It is not yet know whether any Renault cars will be recalled outside of France but I’ll keep you all updated on this story.
