The warning has been issued amid fears that incorrect storage instructions on the packaging could pose a potential health risk.

Some products were wrongly labelled: “Chilled product, keep refrigerated.”

Iceland is asking anyone who has purchased the 450g meal with a use by date before March 25, 2017 to contact its customer helpline.

Alternatively customers can return the ribs to their nearest store for a full refund – You will not require a receipt or proof of purchase.

The mistake was flagged up to the Food Standards Agency – which said the incorrect instructions could cause the food to spoil.

In a statement, the FSA said on its website: “If you have bought the above product, do not eat it.

“Instead, please contact the Iceland Customer Care Line on 01244 842842.”
