80% of Netflix customers aren’t aware of this change.

According to reports, almost 80% of Netflix users are completely unaware that prices may be raised next month, so I thought I’d update you on the situation.

Netflix has already raised the price, in some countries, for new members joining the service and now the same price hike looks set to be added to many existing users account’s.

The new price rise has firstly hit US users, with many being forced to pay $9.99 a month for the streaming service rather than $7.99.

Now Netflix boss Reed Hastings has warned that more price hikes are on their way.

The extra cash is supposively going towards more new and original content.

Nextflix’s terms of service doesn’t allow its subscribers to access films and TV shows in other regions, but until now the firm has had a relatively relaxed approach to actually enforcing that ban.

Nextflix announced the news in blog post, stating: “Those using proxies and unblockers will only be able to access the service in the country where they currently are.

“We are confident this change won’t impact members not using proxies.”

Here is the full extent of the price hike which will take place from May 2016:

£6.99 per month to stream standard definition videos

£7.49 for HD streaming and for the ability for two different screens to watch at once

£8.99 for HD and four devices to watch at once

Alternatively, pre May 2014 users can keep the £5.99 proce they pay, but will be down to the most basic account.
