Update on teenagers who abducted toddler from Primark.

Yesterday I reported on a shocking story about two teenage girls who tried to kidnap a little three-year-old girl from Primark.

The terrifying event took place in Newcastle at around 5pm on Wednesday.

CCTV inquiries were launched with Newcastle City Council, Eldon Square shopping center, local retail premises, Newcastle University, bus companies, the metro and police CCTV cameras.

An hour later and 3 miles away from Primark, two teenage girls, aged 13 and 14, were arrested on suspicion of child abduction in connection with the incident. You can read the full story here.

I now have an update on the story as it is revealed that the two teenage girls aged 13 and 14 have appeared in court. The girls have been charged with the intention of committing a sexual offense. They have also been charged with shoplifting dummies, baby milk and a bottle.

As a parent, this story makes me feel completely sick to my stomach and I can’t believe such a horrifying event can take place so close to home.

The girls have been denied bail and have been ordered to be tagged and remanded into local authority care, to live and sleep at an address from 7pm to 7am.

The girls will not be allowed to enter Newcastle city centre before they appear in North Tyneside Youth Court May 13th.
