Petitions that have emerged from the EU referendum
Since we found out that the vote went in favour to ‘leave’ the EU, there has been a rise in petitions.
The most obvious and the one everyone is talking about is whether we should hold a second vote.
However, peoples opinions on this are torn.
The pro’s
- It would give people a chance to ‘change’ their vote since it emerged there isn’t a spare £350 million a week to help fund the NHS – This, apparently, is one reason why many vote to leave and now they feel as though they have been lied to.
- Some people have admitted to voting ‘leave’ as a threat to the government to prove how strongly they felt about current situations – as they thought we have the ‘remain’ vote in the bag.
- The website crashed when people tried to register to vote and a video emerged of a woman ‘rubbing out’ votes apparently (This would have been said no matter which camp had won)
The con’s
- We were given one chance to vote and the people have spoken, if we done a vote in the future could we demand a second vote if things didn’t go our way?
- There could be public outcry from ‘leave’ voters that they weren’t being listened to.
- If ‘remain’ won on the second referendum then why shouldn’t there be a ‘best of three’ held instead?

The second petition which is doing the round I personally agree with.
”Make it illegal for any UK political figure to knowingly lie or mislead”
Nigel Farage is a great example of this after he done a U turn on his NHS promise.
Whether you voted to ‘remain’ or ‘leave’, the NHS was a major factor in most peoples vote. I personally think that everyone should have been made to vote but only if we had CLEAR FACTS, I found the debate ended up getting too petty and it was more like point scoring rather than given out the correct information to the public to help them cast a confident vote.
This petition stretches well beyond the EU referendum and it would come in extremely handy for future elections and votes.

London have now asked for independence.
London have now asked for independence because ”London is an international city, and we want to remain at the heart of Europe. Let’s face it – the rest of the country disagrees. So rather than passive aggressively vote against each other at every election, let’s make the divorce official and move in with our friends on the continent.”

Some of the racism I have seen on Facebook these past few days have been disgusting, no matter what way the vote went, racism is wrong.
