Too Good To Go – cheap meals to reduce waste

We have a major problem with food waste in the UK, and around the world for that matter, and everyone seems to be looking for new ways to reduce food waste.

This genius app is well on the way to helping reduce food waste.

Designed in Denmark in 2015 by a group of friends, it has now been rolled out across 6 other countries including the UK.

Towards the end of the day local restaurants, cafes and bakeries may be left with too much food so they will promote this on the ‘Too Good To Go‘ app and that allows people near-by purchase top quality meals and produce at massively discounted prices as long as they can pick it up an hour before closing time of the store.

You can expect to see prices from as little as £2 and a maximum of £3.80 (and that’s for the second best Japanese restaurant in the country!).

The app is available for download now, just search ‘Too good to go‘ on your app store.

I have downloaded it and had a look around. There doesn’t seem to be any local businesses taking part around me in Newcastle but it seems to be growing fast so I look forward to seeing what happens in the future.
