Fire extinguisher manufacturers Kidde are recalling around 170,000 extinguishers amid fears that they may not work properly in a fire.
The manufacturers are wanting to recall the affected extinguishers as a precaution as they may clog up and not activate in an emergency. The nozzle may also be able to detach creating an impact hazard.
There are two models with plastic handles manufactured between 1995 and 2012 that are affected. They include those with the model numbers;
There have not yet been any incidents where they have been found not to work in the UK, but in America the company have had 400 reports of faults in activation, and as a result have recalled 40 million extinguishers in the states.
