If like me you’re a bride-to-be who is eagerly organising the big day, you’re probably terrified you’ve forgotten something, so any advice is appreciated.
I’ve been scouring the internet for wedding day hints and tips from former brides who have been there done that, and I’ve found some great advice that i’ll definitely be taking ahead of my own big day.
So here’s to the small things that may be forgotten about amongst all the planning, but will definitely make your day extra special.
Don’t Wear A Bra
Don’t wear a bra the morning of your wedding day. You’re likely to end up with strap lines on your shoulders and back which you don’t want to be visible when you put your dress on.
Clean Your Engagement Ring
Be sure not to forget to get your engagement ring cleaned before the big day. Everyone is going to be looking at your hands and taking pictures of them, and you don’t want it to look dull in comparison to your shiny new band.
Create A Hashtag
If you’re on Instagram or Twitter, why not think about creating a personalised hashtag? It means that when your guests upload photos from the big day, you can look at them all in one place. Some non-professional photos can be the funniest to look back on too.
Wear Your Favourite Perfume
If you wear your favourite perfume and he wears his favourite aftershave for the big day, it’s sure to bring back lots of very happy memories whenever you smell the scents in the future. Be careful not to overdo it though, you don’t want your perfume to be overpowering.
Sit In Your Dress Before Altering
Don’t forget to sit down in your wedding dress before you decide to get it altered. There’s nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable all day because your dress is too tight.
Get A Good Night Sleep
Your wedding day is more than likely going to be a long one, so it’s definitely a good idea to get a good rest the night before. It’ll keep you looking and feeling your freshest, best self. Many people nowadays have their stag and hen do’s days, weeks, or even months in advance rather than the night before to ensure nobody turns up a little worse for wear. You wouldn’t want to miss the alarm on the most important day of your life eh?
Dance
Make sure you get up and have a dance with your nearest and dearest. Chances are your favourite music will be playing, you have the perfect excuse to celebrate, and all of your favourite people are in the room. Make some memories and dance with your loved ones.
Wear in Your Shoes
There’s nothing worse than having beautiful new shoes that make your feet feel super sore, so it’d be an even worse situation to be in on your wedding day. Make sure you wear in your shoes while in the house to make sure they’re more comfortable to wear so you can be pain free on your special day.
Consider A Wedding Coordinator
If you’re the kind of person that can’t relax until they know everything is done, it’s probably a good idea to get a wedding coordinator who can deal with any timings or issues on the day. That means you don’t have to worry about anything and can enjoy your day with your loved ones.
Spend Some Time With Your Parents
Make sure you get to have that father daughter dance and those quiet moments getting ready with mum. It’s sure to be an emotional day for them too and will create some beautiful memories with them to look back on.
Take A Minute
Take a minute to look around the room when you’re sat at the head table. Take a second to breathe, let the day sink in, and look at all of your happy family and friends having a good time. It’s probably the only day you’ll get to have all of your loved ones together in one room. It’s certainly a moment to capture.
Most of all, just enjoy your special day surrounded by your loved ones. If ever there’s a time to celebrate, it’s now! Have you got any invaluable wedding day advice to pass on?
