Apple wants to replace these chargers, do you have one?

Apple is recalling millions of its chargers due to a risk of breaking and electrocution when touched.

Apple is recalling AC wall plug adapters designed for use in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Continental Europe, New Zealand and South Korea. Although UK plugs generally aren’t affected, the same issue can be found in the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit which is widely available to us in the UK.

Apple are encouraging customers to compare their adapters to the images below. An affected wall plug adapter has 4 or 5 characters or no characters on the inside slot where it attaches to an Apple power adapter. Redesigned adapters have a 3-letter regional code in the slot (EUR, KOR, AUS, ARG or BRA).

If you have one of the affected products then you can exchange your adapter at your local Apple Store or alternatively contact Apple support.
