Blackpool Tower Eye review

Only those that have visited the Tower Eye and Skywalk will know how extraordinary this experiance actually is…

Blackpool Tower Eye review

This is probably THE BEST attraction in Blackpool. My husband and I enjoyed it that much that I want to share with you guys something we haven’t announced yet… I’ll tell you later on in the post…

As you head towards the start of the eye experience you pass TV screens showing the best of Blackpool as well as facts all over the walls telling you all about the history of the tower.

You first head into a 4D experiance ride which sees you traveling around Blackpool and it feels so real with the sound effects, the movement, the smells, the water splashing you… I promise you will love it!

Blackpool Tower Eye review The Tower was first opened to the public on 14th May 1894

From there you follow round a corridor which tell you more fascinating facts about Blackpool Tower and you head towards a huge glass lift – my son described it as a ‘Charlie and the chocolate factory life’.

You head up to the top of the tower in the glass lift and you can see for miles. On a clear day you can also see the Isle of Man from the Tower eye! By the time you get to the Skywalk you are a staggering 380ft high!

You step out the lift facing the huge glass windows and floors, the view is breath taking.

At first I was too scared to stand on the glass floor, I was walking around it just peering over the top and looking down – it is some drop! I could feel my heart racing but I really wanted to brave it and walk the glass floor.

It was no problem at all for the kids, they were so brave and walked straight onto the floor as though it was nothing! Jamie gave us a brilliant photo where he was clinging onto one of the beams over the glass floor…

You can head up a small staircase to go higher again up the tower. I braved that and decided to do a live video from the top of the tower, you may have seen it on the Facebook page but if you missed it you can view it here. Or see the glass floor video here…

We got some fantastic photos at the very top of the tower then we decided to head back down so I could brave the glass floor – I finally done it! It was such a crazy feeling but the views were wonderful and after a while we were walking over the floor like pros!

We spent around 45 minutes at the top of the tower just taking in the views, taking photos, talking to a tour guide who was telling us more about the history of the tower – it is easily the best thing to do in Blackpool, you MUST do it if you’re heading here soon.

My husband and children loved it just as much as I did and we can’t wait to go back.

When I married my husband, I was 8 month pregnant, in slow labour and in pain most of the day. I am sad to say it wasn’t an enjoyable day 🙁 I didn’t wear a wedding dress like I had always dreamed of because I just wanted to be comfortable as I was in so much pain. In the past we have discussed renewing our vows and making a proper day of it…

So we have decided that we are going to renew our vows at Blackpool Tower Eye. We are so excited and I can’t wait to finally have a wedding photo I can look at and enjoy… I may even do a Facebook live video so you can all enjoy my 2nd time round big day with me! haha
