Could You Be Eligible For A Blue Badge? New Regulations Announced

Under new government proposals, thousands of people with invisible disabilities could be eligible for a blue badge.

People who suffer with dementia and autism, amongst other invisible disabilities, could be getting a blue parking badge.

If the proposals are successful, it means more people will be able to park without charge and time limit. This will allow those with less visible disabilities to get out and about more easily.

Statistics revealed 75% of disabled people said they would go out less if they didn’t have their blue badge.

Jesse Norman, Transport Minister, said: “Blue badges give people with disabilities the freedom to get jobs, see friends or go to the shops with as much ease as possible. We want to try to extend this to people with invisible disabilities, so they can enjoy the freedom to get out and about, where and when they want”.
