The latest news on Brussels blasts

Sad news in this morning, there have been several blasts around Brussels today…

Up to 13 people have died and at least 35 wounded in blasts throughout Brussels earlier today.

The first blast happened at Zaventem Airport in Brussels. Shots were fired and Arabic shouted before the bomb blasts, according to Belgian news agency Belga

It happened at around 8am, it was a suspected terror attack centred on an American Airlines desk in a departure hall.

Latest news coming in is there has been more bombs found in the airport. All flights to and from the airport have been cancelled.

Video and images shared on social media showed smoke rising from an airport building and shattered windows.

Shocked and confused passengers fled the terminal as they were evacuated by armed police.

Footage also showed ceiling tiles littered across the floor and strewn black luggage belts, cases and bags at a check-in desk.

A second blast happened an hour later at the city’s Maalbeek Metro station. All Metro services are currently suspended and are being evacuated.

Both Metro stations are near the EU institutions.

Since writing this, there has been blasts heard at 2 other metro stations – I am trying to get information on that now.
