There is to be some major changes to the TV Licence

And they aren’t all good…

First off, there will be a good change, giving the over 75’s a free TV licence.

This will be phased in from 2018 but won’t come into full effect until 2020/2021.

Secondly, the TV licence is going to be modernised. It will cover public service broadcast catch-up TV – such as iPlayer, so no more using the loophole of just watching programmes on catch up to get out of paying your licence fee. 

Plus the price of the TV licence is due to rise.
