Children’s electronic toy maker admits they’ve been hacked
There have been more victims of hacking scandals coming forward. VTech is a company which sells children’s tablets, electronic learning toys and baby monitors.
The company has just announced that their app store database, Learning Lodge, was hacked on 14th November.
Parents and children’s data such as names and email addresses have been accessed by the hackers.
The company has said: ‘It is important to stress that our customer database does not contain any credit or banking information.’
The app allows customers around the world to download apps, learning games, e-books and other educational content to their VTech products.
If you use the app it is advised that you are extra vigilent as the hackers have gained access to passwords, secret question and answers for passwors retrieval.
VTech have said on their website: ‘Upon discovering the unauthorized access we immediately conducted a thorough investigation, which involved a comprehensive check of the affected site and implementation of measures to defend against any further attacks.’
