Clamp down could see dog walkers faced with £100 fines.

It’s a well known fact that dog walkers can now face on the spot fines if they get caught ignoring their dogs mess when they’re out walking them.

However, further clamp downs will be taking place and dog walkers will soon have to prove that they have a poop bag at hand regarless whether their dog has fouled or not.

Daventry District Council in Northamptonshire, who introduced the new powers, said owners should have to prove how they would clean up after their dogs to cut down on the problem of fouling.

Pet owners seem to be quite outraged at this new scheme calling it a ‘government money making scheme’ however the government are insisting its aim is simply to cut down on the problem of fouling.

Those who fail to pay the £100 fine could face a penalty of up to £1,000 if the case is taken to court.
