You may get Cold Weather Payments if you recieve certain benefits.
If you get Pension Credit, Income Support, income-based Jobseekers Allowance, income-related Employment and Support Allowance, or Universal Credit, you could be eligible for Cold Weather Payments.
If you’re eligible, you will receive a payment if the average temperature in your area is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees celsius or below for 7 consecutive days.
These payments are different to Winter Fuel Payments, and successful claimants will receive £25 for each 7 day period of cold weather.
Claiming these weather payments won’t affect any other benefits you receive.
If you’re eligible and successful in claiming the weather payments, you should receive payment within 14 working days.
