Cost of Euro Millions lottery to increase

Will this affect you?

When talking about something with an expensive price tag, I often start the sentence with ‘When I win the lottery…’ I’m pretty sure I have my winnings spent 10 times over and I often forget to buy a ticket – so I suppose it won’t affect me too much.

However, anyone who does play the Euro millions regularly will see the price of their ticket rising.

It is currently £2.00 per line but we will soon be paying £2.50 per line.

This move will see double the number of UK millionaires.

We will also be able to choose from one extra number! Players will be able to pick from five main numbers from one to 50 and two lucky stars, which will now be from one to 12 rather than 11.

By adding this extra number, our chances of winning will decrease.

Camelot say there will be higher jackpots when this change happens in October 2016.

”Euromillions has always captured the UK public’s imagination with its exhilarating jackpots and numerous multimillion-pound winners – boosting returns to Good Causes in the process.
It’s now time to re-energise the game and take it to the next level and these fantastic enhancements will do just that, helping us to deliver even more for our players and UK Good Causes in the years to come.”
