The Dream Lodge Group Review

You may have seen I shared our exclusive voucher code a little while ago for The Dream Lodge Group, well I have paid them a visit and I am armed with tons of photos and an honest review…

The Dream Lodge Group Review A family snap taking in the local village of Cromer

After a chock-a-block summer holidays we decided it would be great to get away somewhere for a few days and relax (haha that’s a lie, we took the kids).

After hearing about The Dream Lodge Group and seeing their GORGEOUS lodges we decided to head to their Norfolk park and have a 2 night break.

After a long journey from Newcastle we couldn’t wait to get into the hut tub and relax!

We arrived at The Dream Lodge Group park just after 5pm on Friday and went to check in. The woman on reception was very helpful and you have 3 forms to fill in just basically saying you will respect their rules, you respect the hot tub rules etc – I like this idea, there was no sign of any rowdy behaviour the entire time we were here and this may be why, some parks are awful for noise and behaviour later on in the day.

When we got to our lodge we were lost for words, we had all seen the photos of the accommodation on the website but seeing it up front was fantastic – it really was luxury!

The finishing touches around the lodge were great, you can see how much thought and care has gone into decorating the lodge.

The Dream Lodge Group Review This little welcome pack is such a nice touch.

The Dream Lodge Group Review The boys were happy when they seen the xbox however it wasn’t used once as we had too much fun!

The Dream Lodge Group Review There is a few toys and books in the children’s bedroom.

The Dream Lodge Group Review A disposable BBQ is in your lodge for your arrival, perfect!

The Dream Lodge Group Review I love the idea of the lodge having a washing machine, perfect if you’re there longer than a weekend.

The Dream Lodge Group Review A wine fridge – however we don’t really drink alcohol so we filled ours with fruit juice!

The Dream Lodge Group Review The lodges come with a dishwasher and you got a few dishwasher tablets to start you off.

We unpacked our case and headed to Sainsburys which is only a few minutes away from the site.

By the time we had dinner it was dark but we weren’t going to let that spoil our fun – we all got into our costumes and headed to the hot tub! The temperature was just right and the perfect way to wind down after a long day of traveling.

I must take a moment and point out the beds. I hate unfamiliar beds, you’ve all heard the saying ‘There’s nothing like your own bed’ well I have now changed that saying to ‘There’s nothing like a Dream Lodge bed’ – the mattresses were so comfortable as were the pillows, I only wish I could have taken them home with us!

My children loved their beds too, especially my daughter! She now wants a ‘cool bunk bed’.

On the Saturday we got up early and headed into the local village of Cromer which is about a 20 minute drive away. There was lovely little beach, a pier, a small fair as well as some great local shops.

We headed back to base around lunch time and decided to check out what the site had to offer.

There was a spa, gym, a heated outdoor swimming pool and an award winning restaurant ‘The Olive Tree’. It is the first time I have been on a holiday with no club house and arcade on site but it was a much more relaxed feel, there was still plenty to do and it was cheaper, those pesky 2p machines can often set you back a fortune before you’ve noticed it.

We got a drink each and went to sit outside the bar/restaurant. The surroundings are beautiful, there is a decked area with a large fish pond which our children loved. You can also see the swimming pool from here but there is seating and loungers around the swimming pool if you want to be that bit closer.

We headed back to the lodge after a few drinks and decided to take advantage of the hot tub again, within 20 minutes though the rain was torrential so that ended that activity. We spent the rest of the day playing games in the lodge while waiting for casualty – yep, I did decide to watch TV on holiday but only because it was the aftermath of the helicopter crash!

We left at 10am on the Sunday morning with my daughter crying as she didn’t want to leave and she wanted to take the bunk bed home.

Check out was quick and easy, again the woman at reception was lovely, very helpful and friendly and was pleased we had enjoyed our stay.

Within 30 minutes of our car journey home I was on my phone pricing up a holiday with them again during next years school holidays. We are thinking on trying one of their sites in Devon next year as we have always wanted to go! The good thing about their holiday bookings is their deposits start from as little as £20 and as long as the full payment amount is paid at least 8 weeks before you travel then you can contribute as and when they need to.

The only ‘down’ side we found which was nothing to do with the park itself is the lack of mobile phone signal however there are 12 open wifi spots dotted around the park and also in the bar/restaurant which you can use free of charge.

I would rate this park 10/10 – no doubt about it. We are so excited to go back and everyone of us really enjoyed our break.

Our grade of lodge was The Signature collection, the hot tub comes with this collection.

If you book up to go, please tell me how you get on and I hope you have a wonderful holiday.

If you have any questions then please get in-touch or see the FAQ post over on The Dream Lodge Group website here…
