Facebook branded warehouse clothing scam

This seems to be very similar tot the Ninja Warrior scam that I uncovered a couple of weeks ago…

The description of the branded warehouse clothing sale is as follows:

Join the event to find out more information

Venue: To be announced”

Where are the events supposedly due to be held?

Just like the Ninja Warrior scam event – these clothing sale events are due to be held in major UK cities across the UK on the same day and at the same time.

How is it a scam?

There has been a post pinned to the top of each event page which asks you to register your interest in going to the event. When you fill out the form you give your full name, e-mail address and telephone number.

Scammers can use your email address to send you spam e-mails

They can use your mobile phone number to sign you up to a premium text subscription, meaning they can text you as many times they like and you are charged £1.50 everytime.

What should I do?

If you have selected that you are ‘going’ or ‘interested’ in the event, change that now to ‘not going’.

Also, share this post to make your friends aware. It may be worth sharing this link on to the event page itself to show others that it is a scam so they aren’t caught out.

If you have already filled out the form to express your interest then there is nothing much you can do. Contact your mobile phone provider who may be able to put a block on premium rate numbers.

Where can I find brilliant clothing sales?

I post lots of insider information on my website about up and coming sales. I also have a Facebook page, Ashleigh Money Saver, where we post the best deals, offers and glitches in the UK – give it a follow and I promise I can save you lots of money 😀
