Dog chipping became compulsory from April 2016
This means from April 2016, all dogs in England, Wales and Scotland must be microchipped.
This is already compulsory in Northern Ireland.
If you were to pay for your dog to be chipped, it would set you back around £15-£20
Right now, you can get your dog microchipped free when you book an appointment with the charity Dogs Trust.
A microchip is a tiny implant, about the size of a grain of rice, which stores your details as its owner on an electronic database which will help locate you should you dog ever gets lost.
Any breed and size dog can be microchipped from 8 weeks old.

If you can afford to, please make a donation to Dogs Trust so they can continue to run their fantastic service 🙂
