High levels of faecal matter in KFC drinks
This happened in a KFC branch in the UK
Although this may not save you money, it does make you think why we pay such high prices for such poor quality…
KFC Martineau Place, Birmingham were visited by undercover investigators and they ordered a cup of iced water.
Swabs were sent to Leeds Beckett University which uncovered ‘high levels of bacteria’.
Dr Margarita Gomez Escalada said: “The presence of faecal coliform suggests that there’s faecal contamination either on the water that made the ice, or the ice itself.”
The find was made by BBC1 consumer show Rip Off Britain: Food. The KFC had received a zero out of five hygiene rating from official inspectors.
KFC said staff got immediate retraining, including in how to wash their hands.
