Have you had more spam mail than usual? Here is why…
Hotmail and Outlook have been suffering with a spam filter problem these past few days which has seen all their users email address being swapped with spam messages.
I have noticed this problem over the past few days and I did wonder what was happening as I never give out my personal e-mail address for anything other than personal emails. I have a second email address for everything I sign up to and apply for.
Outlook and Hotmail have now managed to put in place two sets of fixes to protect users’ inboxes and its own infrastructure.
Microsoft has not disclosed what had caused the issue, while a lot of their users took to social media to complain about the issue.
Many said they were ‘drowning in junk mail’ but one user seen the funny side and said…
”Now if you chaps will excuse me, I’m off to become a… millionaire getting a great deal on my car insurance with my new Russian bride at the Casino with my free bets.”
So if you have been inundated with spam mail these past few days, it should have stopped by now – if not, simply select the email and ‘report as phishing scam’
