How BT buying EE could affect you.
For those of you who haven’t seen in the news, BT have had the green light to take over EE which has left many EE customers confused about what this change means for them. Well there will be some pros and cons to the big switch so I thought I’d highlight some of the main ones for you.
Pros & Cons
First and foremost, we will be able to enjoy cheaper prices. There will be more bundled deals available providing more mobile, broadband and TV services together so there will be better deals out there.
BT will no doubt be giving away freebies to their customers to get the ball rolling experts have suggested. They have already offered their broadband customers free BT Sport access so no doubt they will do the same with their phone deals.
There will be less freedom for you to switch, companies tend to encourage you to opt for bundled packages because it makes it more difficult for you to switch. If you are unhappy with just one service you are more likely to put up with it rather than switching around your full package.
How will it work?
Once BT complete their official take over, all customers who are both EE mobile customers and have their broadband with BT will automatically become full BT customers.
BT will more than likely offer some generous benefits to help encourage customers to switch.
Rivals such as TalkTalk and Vodafone tried to appeal the BT takeover as they feel like it will cause significant harm to the competition complaining that they would have too much control.
