Keep fit without spending a penny

Summer is just around the corner and it’s a time of year that many of us start thinking about shifting some weight and toning up. Whether you want to look smokin’ hot in your new bikini, or you just need to build your stamina to keep up with the kids, fitness can be an expensive business.

Ditch the gym memberships, personal trainers, bootcamps and workout DVDs and follow our simple guide to money saving ways you can stay trim. You won’t need to exercise your credit card!

Run, run as fast as you can…

A good old-fashioned run is one of the best ways to stay in shape and even better, it’s totally free. Whether you live in a big city or a country village, there are sure to be plenty of great routes near to where you live.

If you need to build your fitness up, check out the free NHS Couch to 5k plan [http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/couch-to-5k.aspx].
