You may want to start fishing out any coins from the bottom of your bag as they will soon be void.
The last of the rounded coins will be made next month before they are completely gone in 2017.
In their place will be this 12 sided coin.
It is said that this new coin will have better protection against counterfeits.
More than 2.2billion £1 coins have been created since the design was launched back in 1983.
