Signing up to retailers loyalty schemes is always a good idea

Not only will you get exclusive vouchers, you may also get exclusive perks throughout the year too.

There are a lot of loyalty schemes out there but do you know what the perks are? How easy are they to sign up to? Does it pay to be loyal to a store?

I have put together this post to bring you all of the loyalty schemes I know of in the UK and what there perks are.

If I have missed any information, please feel free to get in touch and I can update the post and credit you 🙂

What is a loyalty scheme?

Loyalty schemes are designed for loyal customers and  an incentive to keep them coming back to store time and time again. You can collect points which you can use as a discount when you purchase again or towards vouchers.

This is a basic explanation but each company differs how they reward their customers.

Is there any con’s to a loyalty scheme?

Loyalty schemes are perfect for customers who want to be rewarded for shopping, however, it also rewards the company you sign up to for the loyalty card. They gain by gaining your details, therefore they can e-mail you, text you, write to you and tell you about current deals and offers to try and tempt you to spend more with them.

Does it pay to be loyal?

Sometimes. The more loyal to a supermarket the more points you will build on your cards which means you can swap these points for a high value reward in the end. However, the more loyal you are, the less likely you are to receive exclusive special offers. For example, I signed up to a certain supermarkets loyalty scheme and home delivery service and I would be sent tons of voucher codes every few weeks to redeem against my grocery shop and/or single items. Now I have used them for a few month the vouchers have dried up and I went to a different supermarket because they offered me £10 off my shop for 4 weeks – Now the first supermarket has sent me a ‘we miss you email’ including a coupon off my next shop with them.
