More products recalled due to food poisoning fears

There have been quite a few product recalls lately due to food items being contaminated by the Listeria mocytogenes. These recalls are especially important because the bacteria can lead to serious health issues if consumed.  Yesterday I announced that Salmon was being recalled for the same reason.

The bacteria can cause food poisoning and leaves pregnant women, children and elderly most at risk.

The latest supermarket chain to be affected by this is Spar. They have now recalled Spar Tikka Chicken Chunks after a bacterial contamination was found.

Listeria moncytogenes were discovered in the 140g product with a ‘use by’ date of February 24, the Food Standards Agency has revealed.
