Mother starts petition larger nappies.

If you have a child with additional needs or who is late to potty train, then you will understand the difficulty that goes into finding larger nappies.

One desperate mother has taken it upon herself to start a petition to encourage supermarkets to manufacture larger nappies.

There is currently a ‘continence service’ which provides nappies for parents of disabled children, and while this can be extremely benefitial, the service currently varies throughout the UK in terms of eligiability, referral age, waiting time and the number provided.

This means there is a huge gap in the market for larger nappies readily available to buy in supermarkets. It sounds simple, but it could benefit so many families.

Laura Rutherford who has set up this petition is mother to her four year old son Brody who suffers from epilepsy, hypotonia and hypermobility.

So far, Laura has 11,534 signatures and is calling all major supermarkets to get behind her. Her son is currently wearing the largest sized nappy that can be bought from Tesco, although he is quickly growing out of them.

If you can relate to Laura with this issue, or would just like to support her on her journey to raise awareness for the lack of availability in the UK, then please feel free to sign her petition and help spread the word.
