Primary school tests are set to be made more rigorous!

According to ITV News, school tests are set to be made more rigorous under new rules set by the Education Secretary.

The education changes that are set to be made are:

• More robust tests for 7-year-olds
• Compulsory resit if fail at primary school level.
• ‘National Teaching Service’ by 2020.

More robust tests for children at the end of primary school to ensure they are making good academic progress.

Youngsters who fail to grasp basic literacy and numeracy at primary school will have to resit tests at secondary school. There will also be a rethink of Key Stage One SATs, but not all teachers think the changes will be a good idea and have split people’s opinions. Lots think the children are too young for more pressure to be added to their examinations.
