Prom: A Guide To The Perfect Hairstyle
0shares

If you’re debating what to do with your pretty little locks, we’re here to solve your problems with our hairstyle picks that’ll make you look cute AF on your big night

First things first, with so much choice of hairstyles for prom, a way in which we’ve found is best to narrow down the selection is to ask yourself the following questions;

What is your natural hair type?

Do you have straight hair that doesn’t hold curls? Or maybe you have naturally curly hair that needs to be professionally straightened? It’s usually better to find a hairstyle that will maintain your natural hair type rather than replicating a style that just won’t hold.

Does your prom have a theme?

If there’s a creative theme to the prom, factor it into your search when looking for a suitable hairstyle as well as when you’re exploring the range of prom dresses out there.

Got your dancing shoes on?

If you’ll be on the dance floor all night, you might want to consider a hairstyle that is durable and will hold all through the night. Pick a style that requires bobby pins, clips, bobbles or a whole load of hairspray so you can dance the night away!

Once you’ve asked yourself these questions, you should have some sort of style in mind (also, Pinterest has THOUSANDS of images that may just give you some inspo) that will match your outfit for the night.

Our favourite hairstyles;

For those with wavy hair

How to:

  1. Tie your hair in a low ponytail (if you’re using extensions, clip them in and tie them up)
  2. Take a couple inches of your hair to create a 3-strand braid down the centre of the ponytail.
  3. Pull strands of the braid to create little loops on just one side.
  4. Wrap the braid around itself and pin it down in the middle to create a flower-like design.
