Ryanair’s New Baggage Rules May Have You Spending More …

Ryanair, famous for their bargain flight tickets have revealed new baggage rules which may make your future flights a little more expensive…

The budget airline, popular for its two bag carry-on policy, has introduced a new system where passengers must pay for priority boarding if they want to take more than one carry-on bag as before.

The airline will reportedly be charging £5 for priority bookings which you will be able to buy up to 30 minutes before your flight.

Customers who travel without priority will be able to take two bags, however one (the largest) will have to be put in the hold (for free), which means a wait at the airport for baggage after the flight.

The good news is that Ryanair has reduced fees for their checked bags from £35-£25 and have upped the weight limit from 15-20kg to encourage people to check their luggage.

The airline has said that the new rules have been brought in to eliminate boarding delays and improve departure times.

It has also been reported that your usual travel insurance polices won’t cover expensive items such as laptops and other valuables when put in the luggage hold. Which means if they are lost or damaged you won’t get any money back.

Some customers have been annoyed by the changes…

And some have been a bit more positive about the move…

So the perks are, if you’re flying with Ryanair you will hopefully have better departure times and a bigger weight limit, but you may have to pay extra if you don’t want to wait around for your baggage at the arrival airport.
