Selfridges Christmas shop is now open!

Too early or are you like me and like to be prepared?

I love being super prepared for Christmas. My Christmas shopping starts on boxing day in the sales, if i’m awake before the kids then I’ll browse the online says and pick up a few bits and pieces. I buy throughout the year and that way you can spread the cost. Perfume sets for adults, gadgets for the boys, board games for the kids etc. It is also a good idea to buy your Christmas cards and wrapping paper in the sales ready for the following year, I have stacks ready for this year that cost me the grand total of 95p!

Selfridges on Oxford Street are obviously excited for Christmas after the have turned their 4th floor into a winter wonderland – it even has 50,000 decorations hanging from the ceilings and walls!

To be fair, it is only 4 pay days left until Christmas!!

Geraldine James, Christmas home & decorations buyer at Selfridges, told Press Association “We have so many customers visiting from all over the world and eager to snap up festive souvenirs on their summer holidays, which they can’t buy at home. So, we have to make sure we’re ready to showcase Christmas decorations they will truly treasure.” We also have a large number of domestic customers who love to Christmas shop very early in the year to ensure they can take their pick of the very best selection, whilst all collections and product are available.”

The reaction on Twitter has been mixed up to now, some love it while others hate it.

I am visiting London later this year so this will be on my to-do list but what do you think of it? Is it too early or a bit of harmless fun?
