Supermarket top dog to donate unwanted food to charity!

This supermarket top dog has announced it will be donating all of its unwanted food to charity rather than throwing it away and letting it go to waste.

Morrisons will be leading the way in the new scheme in the hopes others will follow after a big debate has kicked off in the UK over the amount of food wasted in the UK.

The scheme is already being trialled in 112 of their stores in the North-East and Yorkshire.

The supermarket says it will produce 3.500 tonnes of food a year and there will be a member of staff at every store who will work with local groups picking up the food and serving it in places like community cafes and homeless drop-in centres.
