Swap your old phone or tablet for an Argos voucher!
If you have an old phone or tablet that you don’t use, then you can now trade them in in return for Argos vouchers.
Argos are the first retailer to start the scheme but it is expected to stretch out to other retailers is the near future and could also be stretched out to gadgets and household appliances too!
According to the Daily Mail, UK householders are estimated to have around £1bn worth of electrical and electronic equipment in their homes which is no longer used, and two-thirds would be willing to trade in their tech products with a reputable retailer so this seems to be the perfect idea!
You may already know of online websites which offer you money or vouchers in exchange for your old phones, however many of them have bad reputations and do not always give customers the full worth of their items which is why it has been called for a more reputable organisation to set up a scheme.
The store’s head of corporate responsibility, Amy Whidburn, told the Daily Mail: ‘As a leading technology retailer we know that our customers are looking for solutions to responsibly dispose of unwanted gadgets when they replace or trade-up devices.
‘Our new scheme in conjunction with Wrap offers them a safe way to do this, in a really convenient location on their local high street or retail park, with the added benefit of receiving a gift card in return immediately.’
Other big names who have shown support for the idea include: ‘ Homebase, Sainsbury’s, B&Q and Samsung!
