Thousands of children’s costumes being recalled.

Ikea are recalling thousands of their Batman-style capes due to a ‘strangulation risk’ as three children have already been hurt.

Do you have a little one at home who has a Batman costume from the store? If so parents are being urged to return them to store immediately for a full refund.

The cape cost £11.25 and slot over the necks and allow children to run around pretending to be Batman.

Ikea have released this statement: ‘IKEA is recalling LATTJO bat capes after reports about three children that have received marks and scratches on the neck while using LATTJO bat capes.

“The cape got stuck and didn’t detach easily enough from the children’s necks.

“No injuries which required medical treatment have been reported but due to the risk of strangulation or injuries to the neck, IKEA takes precautionary measures and recalls the product.

“IKEA is not willing to risk children’s safety and therefore urges all customers that have a LATTJO bat cape to immediately stop children from playing with it and to bring back to any IKEA store for a full refund.”
