Travelodge Blackpool review

My husband and I recently visited Blackpool with our 3 children and we spent a while looking for somewhere to stay but there were few hotels which catered for families of 5, were fully booked or they just looked a bit grotty. A friend suggested Travelodge and we decided to give them a try. We haven’t used a Travelodge before but after googling them I seen many positive reviews.
We visit Blackpool every year and I didn’t know Travelodge was at Blackpool because it is just back from the seafront so it is easily missed.
It is around a 3-4 minute walk from the seafront so it’s close enough to be in the centre of all the fun but far enough away to avoid the noise of the nightlife.
It is located just next to Blackpools football ground and you can also see the Blackpool Tower from your window if you’re at the back of the hotel, which looks fantastic in the evening all lit up.
When we arrived and checked in the man on the check in desk was very friendly and helpful. We had to book 2 rooms because Travelodge don’t cater for families of 5 – but the rooms are a great price so this is only a small down point.
We headed up to our rooms and they were both immaculate and ready for us to use. I was surprised at just how good the rooms were for a ‘budget’ hotel – the rooms were very modern and the tea and coffee facilities that were included would come in very handy!
After a day walking along the seafront and a trip to the Sea Life centre we couldn’t wait to climb into bed and watch some TV to wind down.
The beds were so comfortable, including the pillows – anyone who knows me personally knows I am an absolute pillow snob. I love a good pillow!
This was probably one of the best nights sleep I’ve had whilst staying at Blackpool as we have always stayed on the seafront which can be quite noisy. You have the sound of the traffic and the horses (there are lots of horse and carriage rides along the seafront) and at weekends it can be quite rowdy with all of the stag and hen do’s. However there was no noise at all around us so it is a perfect base for families.
The rooms don’t have air conditioning but they do have fans supplied which was very welcome because the weather was gorgeous so the rooms got very hot.
On our second day we were all looking forward to breakfast before having a day at the Blackpool Tower. We headed downstairs and there were plenty of staff around to look after you.
You could opt for cereals, toast, croissants, fruit or go for the full full english. I opted for the full english and it was delicious, there was plenty to choose from and it was constantly being topped up and more and more guests turned up for breakfast.
I must mention Glenda from the breakfast team, she was extremely helpful and friendly. She spoke to my children to ensure they were having a great time and she permanently had a smile on her face.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Travelodge and this will be our permanent base when staying in Blackpool in the future.

After I put this out on social media, Helen got intouch and said ”noticed u say they dont cater for family of 5 – we went to one in Northampton and we had a blow up bed which we took with us and they were more than happy for us to use it so we could all be in one room” This may be worth knowing – Thanks Helen x
