Viral video of dog being left in scorching car highlights dangers!

With the heatwave now in full swing, health warnings have been issued for the elderly and young children. However, with the number of pet fatalities rising caused by dogs being left in cars, the focus has now been shifted onto the safety of our pets!

A disturbing video has been circulating social media which shows a dog who has been left in the back of a car for four hours dying and struggling to breath!

The shocking video shows the 14-month-old boxer, who was spotted by passers-by who broke the window, being pulled from the hot car unable to breath properly whilst people desperately tried to pour water over him.

Unfortunately this hasn’t been the only case, several others around the UK are now facing charges after leaving their pets in hot cars causing them heatstroke.

The RSPCA has now issued official advice on their website saying: ”Many people still believe that it’s ok to leave a dog in a car on a warm day if the windows are left open or they’re parked in the shade, but truth is, it’s still a very dangerous situation for the dog. A car can become as hot as an oven very quickly, even when it doesn’t feel that warm. When it’s 22 degrees, in a car it can reach and unbearable 47 degrees within the hour.

The RSPCA are urging anyone who sees a dog in a car on a warm day to call 999, especially if they are in distress!
