Where to get help with debt in the UK

The following agencies are all free to keep the extra expenses down.

Being in debt is scary and it is very easy to bury your head in the sand and hope the problem goes away. Unfortunately, it doesn’t. The problem gets worse and you could end up with extra charges and even bailiffs if you don’t face up to the problem.

I know just how difficult it is as I was also in debt a number of year ago thanks to being made redundant. I have now got myself out of it and I’m now sharing my money saving tips and advice with the people of the UK to help them save as much money as possible.

If you are in debt, I highly recommend you visit or call one of the following agencies for some help and advice. They will be able to help or take over control of your debts which means they will deal with the creditors and put payment plans in place so you can pay smaller repayments over a longer period of time.

I don’t have many debt’s so it’s not worth seeking advice…

If you don’t have serious debt issues and only pay back 2 or 3 debts, then a debt consolidation loan may be for you.

A debt consolidation loan is a loan you can take out to clear your debts.

The pro’s…

  • Your other debts are settled
  • You only have one debt to pay back now which can make it easier to manage
  • The interest rate is usually cheaper meaning you will save money in the long run
  • You are only paying back one creditor now so this will be lower payments each month for you

The con’s

  • If you take a loan out with a higher interest rate than the debts you are paying now, it may cost you more over time
  • It solves the problem not the symptoms – This means it may not teach you to be any more careful with your money in the future which could lead to you making poor decisions which lead to more debt
