Whirlpool, the brand that includes Hotpoint and Indesit, was ordered to fix fire safety problems but has failed to do so
The recall comes after finding a design flaw in the machines that meant when fluff reached heating elements, it set on fire.
Many consumer groups have found that this problem has been linked to a large number of fires and hundreds of dryers are now being recalled.
Around 500,000 tumble dryers are still not fixed, which means many could be at risk of fires.
The products in question were produced between 1 April 2004 and 30 September 2015 under names Hotpoint, Swan, Proline and Indesit.
If your dryer is yet to be modified, OPSS have issued a statement suggesting owners plug them out and call 0800 151 0905 immediately.
